Pumpkin Run

Friday, November 1st

Great News Green Mountain!  This year we are continuing a great tradition.  Our school will be hosting our ninth annual fun run, otherwise known as the “PUMPKIN RUN”. Since Halloween isn’t exactly the most heart-healthy day, it’s important to have a reminder to get one’s heart rate up a bit and burn off some of those extra calories that the kids are about to ingest.  The course is cross-country (around the school grounds) and should be enjoyable for runners and fast walkers alike.

Incentives for all participants will be provided by the PTA and ASB.  Thanks go out to them and you for supporting this event.

This year’s Pumpkin Run will be on Friday, November 1st .  The tentative schedule is as follows:

Pre K, K, 1st, and 2nd grades (one lap = ½ mile)………………..1:55-2:30

Grade 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades (two laps = 1 mile)………………..2:35-3:10

*(Any 3rd graders who wish to, and have permission from their teacher, may do two laps if time permits).

Parents are needed as VOLUNTEERS to:

1. Be course monitors, whose main job it is to keep students safe and on course.

2. Provide encouragement in the form of CHEERING!

3. Take individual and class pictures.

4. Or even join us and walk/run the Pumpkin Run Course.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER:  Contact Mr. Lancaster by note, phone (662-8711) or e-mail at andyl@ckschools.org.  Someone will probably call to remind you.  If  not, JUST SHOW UP 15 minutes early (1:40).

*Remember that all volunteers must have a current WSP background check on file in the office.
