Create      -- Perform      -- Respond

Welcome to the Green Mountain Music Room!  My name is Gary Dahl, and I have had the pleasure of serving as our school’s music specialist since 1998.  My life away from school is filled with music as well. I play timpani in the Bremerton Symphony, and am also Associate Conductor and Personnel Manager.  On Sunday mornings I direct the Chancel Choir at Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church in Bremerton.

At our school, all students from grades K-5 receive music instruction each day for a week at a time, alternating with P.E.

Students work to develop their skills in singing, movement, playing classroom instruments, reading and writing music, performing, and learning about the ways music connects to the world around us.  Each grade level presents its own performance each year.

This year’s grade level performances have been scheduled for the dates listed below.  All performances begin at 6:30 p.m.

Kindergarten: Tuesday, June 4.

Grade 1: Tuesday, Feb. 9

Grade 2: Tuesday, Mar. 5

Grade 3: Tuesday, Apr. 23

Grade 4: Tuesday, Feb. 5

Grade 5: Thursday, Mar. 28

Choir

Students in grades 4 and 5 are invited to participate in the Green Mountain Elementary Choir.  This is an exciting chance to become a part of a performing group and develop singing skill! Band and orchestra members are welcome too (there are no conflicts).

Rehearsals are held after school each Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. from September 24 through May 2. Permission forms are required, and can be picked up at school.

Performances are scheduled for December 6 and May 2 at Green Mountain.  These concerts will also feature our school’s band and orchestra.

You can reach Mr. Dahl at GaryD@ckschools.org or at 360-662-8716.
