🍂 A Season of Gratitude
Dear Green Mountain Families,

As we enter this season of thankfulness, we want to pause and express our deepest gratitude to every student, family, and staff member who helps make our school such a special place. Your partnership, support, and enthusiasm for learning truly make a difference each day. This month, we are celebrating not only the spirit of gratitude but also the many ways our students are growing academically and socially. Thank you for being part of this shared journey!

📊 Student Performance Snapshot
We’re proud to share some of our recent academic highlights!
Our students have been showing tremendous effort across grade levels.

Highlights from Assessments:

Reading:
  • 65% of K-5th grade students are at or above grade level on the Acadience benchmark assessments.
  • 76% of 4th graders met standard on the spring ELA SBA.
Math:
  • 4 out of 5 grade levels surpassed the district average for students at or above grade level measured by STAR Math.
  • 52% of 1st-2nd grade students performed at a Level 3 or Level 4 as measured by STAR Math on the fall benchmark assessments.
These results reflect our shared commitment to high expectations and focused instruction, yet we still have work to do!

⏰ Every Day Counts! The Importance of Attendance
Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success. When students miss school, including arriving late or checking out early, they miss valuable learning time and connection with classmates.

So far this year:
  • 94% of our students have maintained regular attendance
  • Our goal is to reach 98% at the end of each week!

Families, your efforts make this possible. Thank you for ensuring your children arrive on time and ready to learn each day. If you need support with transportation, illness, or attendance concerns, please reach out. We’re here to help.

🎯 Our School Improvement Goals
This year, our School Improvement Plan focuses on the following areas:

  1. Academic Achievement: Increase reading and math proficiency for all students.
  2. Positive School Climate: Foster a culture of belonging through social-emotional learning, student leadership opportunities, and family engagement events.
  3. Attendance: Encourage high levels of student attendance, striving for less than 10% absenteeism rates.

Together, these goals support our mission: A safe and nurturing environment that meets student's academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs so that everyone can be successful!

đź’› Thank You for Your Partnership
As we reflect on what we’re grateful for this season, we want to thank you, our families, for your ongoing support, encouragement, and trust. Your involvement, whether reading at home, attending conferences, or supporting student progress, fuels our students’ success.

With gratitude,

Cyndi Garber
Interim Principal
