Update for Green Mountain Families
Dear Green Mountain Families,
As you know, our school experienced a disruption this week due to a fire. Although the fire was contained to one unit in a classroom, the entire Mountain Pod of our school has been significantly impacted. We learned today that the damage is more extensive than initially anticipated.
Seven learning spaces and an office space need to be relocated within our building. As a result, our teachers and speech/language pathologist in the Mountain Pod have lost everything. The affected staff include Ms. Agtonton, Ms. Atwood/Ms. Rockwell, Ms. Daniels, Ms. Sherbesman, Ms. Bower, Ms. Sawyer, Ms. Langholff, and Ms. Brinkerhoff.
The outpouring of support from our Green Mountain community has been truly humbling. Thank you for your kindness, flexibility, and care.
Below are some important procedural updates for our return to school on Wednesday:
All students will line up outside their classroom door as is our current practice.
The first day back, Mountain Pod teachers will meet their students outside, and take them to their new learning space. They will receive communication from their teacher about their new location for morning line-up beginning on Thursday.
Breakfast and lunch will occur in the classroom.
As we move forward together, our priority remains the safety, well-being, and continuity of learning for our students. While this has been a challenging moment for our Green Mountain staff, it has also highlighted the resilience, care, and generosity that define who we are. We are deeply grateful for your patience, flexibility, and ongoing support as we make these necessary adjustments. We will continue to communicate updates as plans are finalized, and we thank you for partnering with us to ensure our school remains a place of stability, care, and learning for every child.
Humbly yours,
Cyndi Garber
Interim Principal
