Great News Green Mountain! This year we are continuing a great tradition. Our school will be hosting our eighteenth annual fun run, otherwise known as the “PUMPKIN RUN”. Since the week of Halloween isn’t exactly the most heart-healthy, it’s important to have a reminder to get one’s heart rate up a bit and burn off some of those extra calories that the kids are about to ingest. The course is cross-country (around the school grounds) and should be enjoyable for runners and fast walkers alike. Incentives for all participants will be provided by the PTA and ASB. Thanks go out to them and you for supporting this event.

This year’s Pumpkin Run will be on Wednesday, October 28th. The tentative schedule is as follows:

K: 12:50-1:20 (one lap = ½ mile)

1st: 1:30-2:00(one lap = ½ mile)

2nd: 2:00-2:40 (two laps = 1 mile)

3rd: 10:20-10:50 (two laps = 1mile)

4th: 9:50-10:20 (two laps = 1 mile)

5th: 2:45-3:25 (two laps = 1 mile)

Parents are needed as VOLUNTEERS to:

1. Be course monitors, whose main job it is to keep students safe and on course.

2. Provide encouragement in the form of CHEERING!

3. Take individual and class pictures.

4. Or even join us and walk/run the Pumpkin Run Course.

The AM time frame is from 9:00 to 10:50. The PM time frame is from 12:30 to 3:25. You may volunteer for the AM or PM or All Day.
