Learning & Growing
We have completed our beginning-of-the-year benchmark assessments in reading and math. While assessments are only one piece of the puzzle, they give our teachers important information about where students are starting the year and help us identify strengths, areas for growth, and where additional support may be needed.

Now comes the most important part which is using that information to support instruction. Our teachers are looking closely at student data, classroom work, and what they see and hear from students each day to plan instruction that meets students where they are and helps move their learning forward.
Throughout the year, we’ll continue to check in on student progress, adjust instruction, provide additional support or challenge when needed, and, most importantly, celebrate growth along the way!

Parent Interest Survey
On last year's climate survey we heard that families would like more extra curricular activities offered at Green Mountain. We are listening and are interested in hearing your feedback. Please answer the question below by Friday, October 23rd.

We will be surveying students in the near future.

Warmly,
Cyndi Garber

Vision and Hearing Screening

Our Vision Hearing Screening is coming up  in a week and a half Wednesday October 21st! We encourage students who wear glasses to bring them.

        Fathers and Father-figures,

At 6:30 we will have a presentation about our WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) Program. WATCH D.O.G.S.® is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life. Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model and to provide an extra set of eyes and ears.
Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers . . . this is your chance to have a night out alone with your student in a fun atmosphere at school.
RSVP’s will be coming home next week in backpacks.

Impact Aid

Every year, Central Kitsap School District applies for federal Impact Aid funding. These funds compensate CKSD for the loss of local tax dollars from tax exempt federal property.

The results of our Impact Aid survey help support our request for these federal funds. This survey is critical to our district’s resources for students.

Please complete this form as soon as possible. Log into PowerSchool Parent Portal to access the online forms for your students. You can learn more at https://www.ckschools.org/impactaid or email ImpactAid@ckschools.org with your questions. Thank you for your cooperation!
